Meet Shaye
POSTPARTUM DOULA
Shaye McCauley (she/her) is a postpartum doula and former preschool director, nanny, and au pair based in Nashville, TN. With a B.A. in Social Work and concentration in Youth Development and Community Engagement from Auburn University, she’s spent over a decade supporting children and families through every stage of early development.
As a postpartum doula, Shaye brings the same child‐led, play‐based philosophy she used as a preschool teacher and Reggio‐inspired au pair – but now focused on you. She is passionate in helping new families navigate the fourth trimester with evidence‐based support for newborn feeding, soothing, sleep, and emotional regulation. Her background in early childhood education means she also guides siblings through the transition, foster secure attachment, and model developmentally appropriate interactions.
Whether you need overnight support, daytime help with light household tasks, or a compassionate ear as you process birth and parenthood, Shaye provides calm, compassionate care. She's supported students, staff, and families as a director and education leader, so she's especially skilled at creating clear systems, communicating gently, and adapting to your family’s unique rhythm.
In her free time, Shaye loves to spend as much time outdoors as possible. When not with family or friends, she fills her downtime with books, gardening, documentaries, and adding to her art collection.

We can’t say enough good things about our experience with our postpartum doulas, Brayta and Courtney.
The majority of our time was spent with our overnight doula, Brayta. She was a godsend—literally the reason I’ve made it through motherhood. This was our first child, and Brayta helped support me through long nights, frustrating nursing sessions, milk spills, all of it. Her patience and kindness were truly a blessing. She not only supported my journey as a mother but also took wonderful care of our baby.
